When you browse
The web server records technical request information, including IP address, request time, requested URL, response status, browser identification and, when sent by your browser, the referring page. This supports website operation, diagnosis and security.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Routine web-server logs rotate daily and retain up to 14 rotated files, in addition to the active log. Relevant records may be kept longer when needed to investigate an incident or establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
When you email us
We receive your email address, message, any name or signature you provide, attachments and technical email metadata. We use these to read and answer your enquiry and manage the correspondence.
For general enquiries, the basis is our legitimate interest in responding to correspondence (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where you request steps towards a contract to which you would be a party, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies. Correspondence is retained for as long as the enquiry and any resulting relationship require, taking account of applicable legal obligations and claim periods.
Providing information is voluntary, but an address and enough context to understand your question are needed for a useful reply. Please do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive data.
